Kristin Jensen specializes in coaching classical, opera, legit Broadway, and folk music, and her students have successfully performed in all vocal mediums. She helps her clients find the full expression of their voice and gives them the tools to sing with confidence, in both private and public settings.
In over 15 years of teaching, Kristin has seen several students go on to become professional opera singers, folk singers, music teachers, and more. Many have also found immense satisfaction and personal empowerment through exploring a new avenue of self-expression.
Kristin holds a Bachelor of Music in Voice from Florida State University and a Master of Music in Opera from Arizona State University. She has sung leads with Loveland Opera Theater, New York Lyric Opera Theater, Opera Company of Brooklyn, and Vocal Productions NYC, chorus, concerts, and outreach with Phoenix Opera, and is currently an ensemble member of the Utah Opera. She has performed leads in music theater shows at Lincoln Center and the West Village in New York City, and in Jakarta, Indonesia. Kristin has taught as a faculty member at music studios in Mesa, AZ, and in New York, NY.
Kristin worked extensively as a church musician for several years in the Phoenix area, singing in Episcopalian, Christian Scientist, Methodist, Presbyterian, Unitarian, Latter-day Saint, Catholic, and Jewish services. Kristin has also delighted audiences in private recitals and public performances in several US states, in Alberta, Canada, and on the streets of Europe. Most recently, Kristin performed as a soloist in the Brigham Young University Idaho’s concerts of Robert Cundick’s oratorio, The Redeemer.
As a recent graduate of the William Esper Acting Studio in NYC – with 2 years of Meisner acting technique and movement training – Kristin is uniquely positioned with an arsenal of highly effective tools to assist singer-actors in bringing life and vibrancy to their craft and singing.
Kristin relocated the Singing Savvy Voice Studio from NYC to the Salt Lake valley in 2015, and is thrilled to be working with many talented students in the area.
Kristin looks forward to meeting with you and helping you along your path to great joy in your voice and craft!
